The New India Assurance Company Ltd. is a reputed public sector general insurance company. It has recently invited applications for recruitment of 300 administrative officers (generalists) in scale-I grade. The basic pay scale is quite alluring along with a quality job profile. Apart from that, other personal benefits such as gratuity, coverage under national pension scheme governed by PFRDA, group personal accident insurance, and medical allowance are also there. As per norms, the officers are further entitled to Company’s / leased accommodation.

The Selection Procedure:
The recruitment process for AO positions will be conducted in three phases:
(A). Phase – I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
The preliminary exam will be an online exam consisting of objective tests of 100 marks in total. It will be an exam of one hour duration. It will have the following three sections:
Note: (I) Except English language the other 2 tests i.e. reasoning ability & quantitative aptitude will appear in both English and Hindi medium. (II) There will be minimum cut off marks for each test. (III) Based on the performance in the preliminary exam, candidates will be shortlisted for the main exam. (IV) The number of candidates shortlisted for the main exam will be around 15 times the number of vacancies in that category. (V) The marks scored in the preliminary exam won’t be included in the final merit list.
(B). Phase – II: Main Examination (Online)
The main exam will have two parts: objective test & descriptive test. Both the tests will be conducted online. The candidate will have to appear in the objective test followed by the descriptive test.
(i) Objective Test – It will have 200 marks in total. It will be a test of 2 hour duration. It will contain 4 sections as follows:
(ii) Descriptive Test – The test will have a total of 30 marks. It will have to be attempted in English language only and will also be conducted online. It is going to be a 30 minute test consisting of two parts:
Note: (I) Candidates will have to score minimum cut off marks in all the 4 sections of the objective test so that they become eligible for descriptive test evaluation and interview. (II) The descriptive test of only those candidates who qualify the objective test will be evaluated. (III) The qualifying marks to be scored in the descriptive test will be determined by the company on the basis of the number of vacancies. (IV) To get shortlisted for the interview, the candidate will have to score sufficiently high marks in the objective test and qualify the descriptive test. (V) The marks scored in the descriptive test will not be included in the final merit list.
(C) Phase – III: Interview
Candidates who pass / qualify the Phase – II (main exam) will be called for an interview to be conducted by the company at selected locations. In order to attend the interview, the selected candidates are required to download their interview call letters from the company’s website.
Final Selection:
Final selection will be based on the consolidated marks of main exam (objective test) & interview. The ratio (weightage) of marks of objective test & interview will be 80:20 respectively.
Note: (I) A wait list will also be prepared that may be used in the event of non acceptance of job offer by the selected candidates. (II) This list will not exceed 50% of the number of vacancies available in each category.
